The 2nd Annual Twin Cities Leadership Conference was held in February 2009,
at Salem College.
Timogi was one of a dozen community leaders asked to lead an independent group discussion with students from the four institutions involved(Winston Salem State University, Wake Forest, The School of the Arts and Salem College).
Her topic of choice was instilling hope and planting the higher education seed in the minds of young students, who are potentially first generation college students, through volunteering in public schools while attending college.

If you are ready for an uplifting experience, then you must taste and see what a Sistah Party can do for you. Timogi is an amazing woman who has honored her gifts and talents from God and used them for the betterment of woman from every background in life. You will experience a true camaraderie atmosphere. A place where women can feel safe, uninhibited and respected is the format of theses Sistah parties. And you will laugh; love yourself and others through a Divine connection. We agree to disagree without being disagreeable, now that is refreshing!

A Sistah Party is an  empowering, reaffirming experience for women.  Led by Timogi, every woman present participates.  Thought provoking questions are asked and answered and vigorous exchange abounds.  Although a Sistah Party is about loving and freeing yourself, fun and laughter are important components as well.  Timogi is a gifted writer and visionary.  Her work totally reflects what the party is all about.  Yes, there are items for sale, but there is no selling.
The women make purchases because they want
to remember the Sistah Party and continue to experience the empowering love.  As Timogi says in one of her poems, “You are free Sistah!” and she means it.
